Affiliate Disclosure

Effective date: 16 October 2026

Somebody pays for every website, and a reader is entitled to know who.

The arrangement, in one paragraph

Mute Spectrum is published by MEBAT Distribution s.r.o. and carries paid affiliate links to one product, War Thunder. If you follow one and then register an account and confirm your email address, the affiliate network that operates the link pays MEBAT Distribution s.r.o. a commission. That commission is the entire income of this site. You are not charged for it and the amount you would pay for anything is unaffected.

Where the affiliate links appear

There are four, in predictable places rather than scattered through the text:

  • On the homepage, in the section headed "Where War Thunder appears in the course, and why".
  • In Step 1, where the genre is described and one example of it is named.
  • In Step 3, where you may want to look at the vendor's own sign-up and requirements pages.
  • In Step 4, which covers the sign-up and first-run sequence.

Each carries a line of disclosure beside it, in the same size type as the surrounding text, and none is disguised as a button, a recommendation or a download. They say "Visit the War Thunder website", which is what they do. The address sits in the link itself and is visible in your status bar before you click; there is no redirect and no script that rewrites it.

No other page carries one: not the checklists, not About, not Contact, not the legal pages.

What the commission does not decide

It does not decide what the steps say. The course was planned as a sequence of decisions a reader has to make, and the test applied to each step was whether it would still be worth reading with the product deleted from it. All five pass, which is why three of the five happen before anything is downloaded and none requires you to install or buy a thing.

It does not decide which products are mentioned. Only one product is named, which sounds like a contradiction — so, honestly: there is one commercial arrangement behind this site, and we say so rather than naming alternatives to look even-handed. What the commission has never done is change a description, remove a caution or add a recommendation.

It does not buy a claim. Everything stated about the product here comes from what the vendor and the affiliate network state: a multiplayer war simulator from Gaijin Entertainment involving planes, helicopters, tanks and ships, played on Windows, macOS and Linux desktop computers, with registration, email confirmation and logging in as the relevant account steps. Where they state nothing, we say so. There are no benchmarks, scores or awards here, because no tests were run.

What does decide the content

Four things, in this order. What a reader with no prior knowledge has to decide, and in what sequence. What an Australian government body publishes — classification, consumer law, online safety, privacy, account security — linked rather than paraphrased. What the vendor states about its own product, quoted narrowly. And whether a sentence produces something a reader can act on; if it does not, it is cut.

The method behind that is set out on the About page, which also states that the named product is one the publisher has a commercial relationship with.

Trademarks

All brand names on Mute Spectrum, War Thunder among them, are the property of their owners. Except for the paid affiliate links described on our funding page, none of those owners is affiliated with Mute Spectrum, and none has endorsed or sponsored it.

Mute Spectrum is not an official site, not an authorised source, not a reseller and not a partner of any publisher, and it uses no brand's logo, wordmark or screenshots.

What happens after you click

You leave this domain. The destination site and the network may then set cookies on their own domains to record the referral, under their own policies, which MEBAT Distribution s.r.o. neither controls nor can inspect. What comes back to us is a commission report — counts and amounts — used only to reconcile payment. The Cookie Policy and the Privacy Policy cover this, including the fact that this site sets no cookies.

If you would rather not use the links

Then do not. Every step works if you type a vendor's address yourself, or visit no vendor at all, and you lose no content, checklist or explanation. The site would simply be unpaid for, which is our problem rather than yours.
